How
to get to Bella Coola: The community
of Bella Coola, BC and the surrounding areas can be
best accessed by vehicle, BC Ferry and by air.

By Sea: BC Ferry services the Bella
Coola Valley. The terminal is located west of the
community. BC Ferry transports vehicles and foot passengers
traveling from Vancouver
Island, Queen
Charlotte Islands and the North
BC communities with a ferry terminal in Prince
Rupert, BC.
By
Vehicle: From the south of the province,
from Hope, BC, travel Highway Hwy #1 and Hwy #5 to
connect to Hwy # 97 which continues to 100
Mile House and then to Williams
Lake . From Williams Lake travel west on Highway
20 to the community of Bella Coola on the central
coast of BC. Prepare for gravel roads near Anahim
Lake and continuing on down the steep grades in
the mountainous Tweedsmuir
Provincial Park. It is beautiful.
From the north of the province travel to Prince
George, BC and then follow Highway #97 south to
the community of Williams Lake and, then, turn west
onto Highway 20 to Bella Coola.
From the east of the province the best
route to follow is the Trans Canada Highway (Hwy #1)
to Kamloops.
From there continue on Hwy #97 to Cache
Creek and then to Williams Lake. Take Highway
20 west to Bella Coola.

Air: Located near the community of
Hagensborg, BC is a small air strip. Also the marina
is a stop for floatplanes. |
